Our client Aston Mayfair is looking for a Senior Structural Design Engineer in REMOTE
The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years' experience in structural engineering design. This role involves the design and analysis of masonry, timber, and steel structures in accordance with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
An initial training period will be provided to familiarise the candidate with UK design standards, codes, and industry practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing structural calculations, technical reports, and structural drawings as part of their day-to-day Responsibilities

A significant proportion of our projects is residential and includes house extensions, loft conversions, and new-build homes. The role demands strong technical expertise, effective project management skills, and the ability to meet project deadlines while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards.
This is a fully remote, work-from-home position operating during UK business hours.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed structural design and analysis for building projects using industry-standard software such as ETABS and Tekla Tedds, ensuring compliance with relevant design codes and safety standards.
- Develop structural models and prepare design calculations for masonry, steel, and timber structures in accordance with Eurocodes and British Standards.
- Prepare structural calculations and construction drawings for a wide range of steel structures, including braced frames, moment-resisting frames, portal frames, and trusses. Previous experience in the design of steel structures is highly desirable.
- Design structural steel members, including beams, columns, trusses, bracing systems, connections, and base plates, ensuring structural integrity and efficient material utilisation.
- Carry out the design of reinforced concrete and masonry retaining walls in accordance with relevant design standards.
- Prepare engineering calculations and develop detailed drawings for drainage and sewer systems.
- Produce comprehensive structural drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Structural Detailing, and Revit for client review, regulatory approval, and construction purposes.
- Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of structural designs within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with applicable local building regulations, Eurocodes, and international standards, with due consideration for wind loading and other environmental factors.
- Perform structural load analysis, design assessments, and risk evaluations to optimise structural performance, material efficiency, and overall project cost-effectiveness.
- Keep abreast of emerging industry trends, technological advancements, and updates to design standards to implement best practices and innovative engineering solutions.
- Lead the preparation of technical reports, design specifications, calculation packages, and compliance documentation for clients, approval authorities, and regulatory bodies.
