Our client Riphah International University is looking for a Senior Lecturer - Media Sciences in Islamabad
1- Qualification \& Experience: A minimum qualification of MS/MPhil in Media Studies, Mass Communication, or Journalism from a nationally or internationally recognized institution.
2- The ideal candidate will have at least five years of teaching experience in a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized institution and demonstrate expertise in areas such as media production, journalism, communication studies, digital media, or related disciplines.
Job Description:
Senior Lecturer will be responsible to:
- Deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions in various areas of Media and Communication in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Develop and regularly update course materials to reflect current trends and innovations in media, journalism, digital communication, and production practices.
- Guide students in practical media production projects, ensuring adherence to professional and ethical standards in media content creation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive lectures and practical sessions covering diverse topics in media, journalism, communication studies, and digital media in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Develop, revise, and maintain course materials to incorporate latest research, technological advancements, and industry best practices in media and communication fields.
- Guide and support students in developing media production projects, emphasizing creativity, professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards in content creation.
- Conduct scholarly research and contribute to academic publications to advance knowledge and drive innovation within media and communication disciplines.
- Participate actively in curriculum review and design to ensure program relevance, academic rigor, and alignment with higher education standards.
- Evaluate student work fairly and constructively by providing timely feedback to foster learning and skill development.
- Engage in academic committees and collaborate with colleagues to promote departmental objectives and continuous improvement of teaching methods.
- Support student mentoring and academic advising to assist learners in achieving their educational and career goals.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in media production, journalism, and digital communication through professional development and networking.
- Promote ethical media practices and critical thinking among students to prepare them for responsible professional roles in media industries.
