Our client Roots International Schools is looking for a Homeroom Teacher in Islamabad
The Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students. The teacher delivers curriculum objectives, monitors student progress, communicates effectively with parents, and contributes to the overall school community.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning standards.
- Teach core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and other assigned subjects.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, educational resources, and technology to enhance learning.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment.
- Develop classroom routines and behavioral expectations.
- Manage student behavior using positive discipline strategies.
- Promote student responsibility, independence, and self-confidence.
Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
- Assess student learning through formal and informal methods.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Identify students requiring additional support and implement intervention strategies.
- Prepare progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
Student Well-being
- Support the social and emotional development of students.
- Monitor student welfare and report concerns according to school safeguarding policies.
- Encourage positive relationships among students and foster inclusivity.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Respond professionally and promptly to parent inquiries.
- Collaborate with parents to support student learning and development.
Collaboration and Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, specialists, and school leadership.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Participate in school events, field trips, and extracurricular activities as required.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and school improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in primary/elementary education preferred.
- Experience teaching Grade 2 or lower primary grades is an advantage.
