What We're Building
The insurance industry is a $500B market still running on the same playbook it used in 1980. There are 39,000 independent agencies, it costs approximately $560 to service a single policy, and expertise doesn't scale beyond the people in the room. We're changing that.
Our proprietary AI platform handles submissions, renewals, endorsements, certificates of insurance (COIs), coverage analysis, and client communication across every commercial line and industry vertical—at near-zero marginal cost. The result is a single agency with unlimited specialization and a cost structure that no traditional brokerage can match.
Role Overview
We're looking for an AI Engineer who is passionate about building practical AI products that solve real business problems. This is an exciting opportunity to join an AI-first startup and help shape the future of commercial insurance.
As an AI Engineer, you'll work closely with product and engineering teams to build AI-powered workflows that automate insurance operations, including document processing, coverage analysis, client communication, and internal productivity tools. This is a highly hands-on role where you'll experiment with modern AI technologies, write production-ready code, and help bring innovative AI features from concept to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, and deploy AI-powered features using LLMs and modern AI frameworks.
- Develop prompt engineering strategies, AI workflows, and agent-based automation solutions.
- Integrate AI models with internal applications and third-party APIs.
- Build intelligent document processing pipelines for insurance submissions, policies, endorsements, and certificates of insurance (COIs).
- Develop backend services that support AI-powered products and automations.
- Evaluate AI model performance and continuously improve accuracy, reliability, and response quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to rapidly prototype and ship new AI capabilities.
- Research and experiment with emerging AI tools, frameworks, and best practices to continuously improve our platform.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience
in AI/ML engineering or software engineering with hands-on AI development.
- Strong programming skills in
Python
.
- Experience building applications using
LLMs
such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar models.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, or AI agents.
- Experience integrating APIs and developing backend services.
- Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and AI model evaluation.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development practices.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience with frameworks such as
LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen
, or similar AI orchestration tools.
- Experience deploying AI applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with Docker, OCR, document intelligence, or workflow automation.
- Previous startup experience or personal AI projects demonstrating practical AI development.
