Location: Las Vegas, NV (100% On-Site)
Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 / year (Salaried, Exempt, depending on experience) + health benefit options and 401k match.

About the Opportunity:
An established, local non-profit educational organization in Las Vegas is seeking a community-minded Accountant to own their financial operations, compliance, and payroll functions.
This is a uniquely blended, hands-on role. You will manage high-level accounting functions while actively embedding yourself in our vibrant, tight-knit culture by sharing front-office coverage. Key Responsibilities:
Core Financials \& Compliance
- Manage all daily accounting operations, including general ledger integrity, cash management, fixed assets, AR, and AP in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Execute accurate month-end and year-end close procedures and produce timely financial statements.
- Prepare all financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for the organization's annual financial audit and regulatory tax filings.
- Supervise cash handling, credit card processing, and serve as the primary liaison for banking and insurance relationships.
Tuition \& Grant Administration
- Oversee tuition invoicing and payment collection for students/clients; reconcile data between specialized billing software and QBO.
- Track and apply program scholarships and maintain monthly deferred revenue schedules.
- Monitor restricted grants, submit monthly reimbursement requests, and assist leadership with new grant applications.
Payroll \& HR Support
- Process accurate biweekly payroll for a dedicated staff of up to 50 employees.
- Manage HR generalist duties, including employee onboarding/offboarding, annual open enrollment, and benefits processing.
Operations \& Culture
- Provide accurate monthly financial reports and balanced annual budget guidance to leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Share physical front-desk coverage with the Office Manager on a staggered schedule to ensure the office is covered until 5:30 PM.
- Maintain a flexible, "wear multiple hats" attitude inherent to a small team environment (e.g., greeting families or stepping in to assist around campus when needed).
Position Requirements:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- Experience:
2–5 years of hands-on accounting or full charge bookkeeping experience.
- Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Experience with specialized school or tuition management software is a major plus.
- Domain Knowledge:
Strong understanding of financial regulations, restricted funds, and compliance practices unique to non-profit organizations.
- Soft Skills:
Exceptional organizational skills, an analytical mindset, and a high level of integrity and strict confidentiality. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and board members.
