Platform Engineer

Insight Global is hiring a **Senior Platform Engineer** to join the Enterprise Platform Engineering team for a leading Vancouver\-based retailer. This is a hands\-on technical leadership role focused on designing, operating, and scaling GitLab SaaS, Terraform Cloud, and CI/CD automation at enterprise scale. You’ll partner with platform, security, and product teams to deliver resilient DevOps solutions while driving adoption of AI\-assisted workflows across the SDLC. **Responsibilities:** * Own and operate GitLab SaaS and Terraform Cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance with security and SSDLC standards * Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, runners, templates, and shared components * Develop and promote Infrastructure\-as\-Code (IaC), including reusable modules, guardrails, and policy\-as\-code * Design and implement GitOps workflows; automate provisioning, access management, and platform lifecycle processes * Integrate AI\-assisted capabilities across CI/CD, code review, incident response, and operations (with a focus on responsible use) * Maintain platform reliability through observability, metrics, and on\-call support * Analyze platform performance and drive continuous improvement and roadmap recommendations * Create documentation, runbooks, and reference architectures to enable self\-service and best practices * Drive adoption through templates, automation, and participation in communities of practice **Required Experience:** * 7\+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles * Deep hands\-on expertise with GitLab (SaaS/Managed) and Terraform (Cloud/Enterprise) * Strong experience with IaC, AWS, and Kubernetes * Experience leveraging AI\-assisted tools within engineering workflows * Proven ability to own and operate production platforms end\-to\-end, including governance, access control, architecture, and scalability
