Job Description
* Performance Strategy \& Architecture: Proven experience in designing and executing performance and non\-functional (testing strategies for complex systems, including architecture reviews, realistic workload modelling, and validation of scalability, resilience, and operability across enterprise platforms and shared services. * Performance Testing Tools: Skilled in performance testing tools (e.g. LoadRunner, Gatling) and client\-side performance analysis (e.g. Sitespeed.io, WebPageTest) to assess end to end user experience and non\-functional behaviour across diverse environments. * Profiling \& Optimisation: Proficient in root cause analysis and debugging (e.g. YourKit, JProfiler), with experience tuning applications and identifying platform, infrastructure, or configuration\-related constraints impacting efficiency and scalability. * Infrastructure \& Cloud: Experience with on premises, hybrid, and cloud environments (especially AWS); adept at performance troubleshooting across Linux/Unix and Windows; working knowledge of how compute, storage, virtualisation, containerisation, and orchestration platforms influence system stability and performance. * Monitoring \& Observability: Proficient with monitoring and observability practices and tools (APM, logging, tracing, OpenTelemetry), enabling validation of performance, reliability, and availability across application, platform, and infrastructure layers. * Database Performance: Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases; skilled at diagnosing and resolving database performance issues while considering downstream impacts on platform services and overall system behaviour. * DevOps \& CI/CD: Familiar with DevOps and DevSecOps practices, embedding performance and non\-functional quality checks into CI/CD pipelines, and aligning testing approaches with modern delivery and infrastructure as code models. * Chaos Engineering: Familiar with chaos engineering principles; able to design and run controlled failure experiments to assess resilience and fault tolerance across applications, platforms, networks, and supporting services; experience with tools like Harness Chaos or Gremlin is a plus.
