Job Description
This position is designed for academic leaders who prefer to design systems rather than critique them. You must possess deep subject\-matter expertise to recognize high\-caliber learning, the discipline to translate that vision into measurable standards and AI\-driven quality controls, and the pragmatism to execute swiftly on incomplete data. Your focus is on measurable student progress, and you accept accountability for those results.
2 Hour Learning pursues an approach that the broader software and education sectors seldom undertake. There are no instructors, no traditional textbooks, and no conventional teaching layer supporting the product. AI serves as the operational foundation. In this capacity, you apply it to produce and refine learning materials, architect interventions, oversee quality, and advance platform capabilities. The tempo resembles high\-performance technology, consulting, or finance rather than traditional education, with the benefit of direct responsibility for subject\-level student outcomes across multiple campuses.
This position entails managing a functional area. You will develop AI\-driven enhancements to the learning ecosystem, deploy targeted interventions in response to student performance data, document evidence\-based decisions, and lead a team measured against explicit benchmarks tied to MAP, AP, SAT, and ISEE outcomes. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to shape platform priorities. The role suits individuals who default to AI solutions, conduct independent analysis, deliver amid uncertainty, and assume full ownership of results. It will not suit those who favor consensus\-driven timelines, minimal accountability, or reliance on established systems.
You will serve as a senior leader within the academics function, wielding meaningful influence over your subject's performance and the evolution of the broader learning system. Your colleagues will depend on your standards, judgment, and capacity to translate student data into actionable steps. If this prospect excites rather than daunts you, you are likely the candidate this role requires.
**What You Will Be Doing**
* Learning Ecosystem Enhancements — AI\-powered refinements to K–12 subject\-specific learning experiences encompassing content, adaptive learning pathways, and student interventions, shaped by student feedback, performance analytics, assessments, and coaching observations.
* Data\-Driven Academic Interventions — Focused intervention strategies for underperforming students or groups, informed by MAP, AP, SAT, ISEE, and comparable performance metrics.
* Student Performance Decision Records — Structured, evidence\-supported documentation of actions taken to improve student performance, backed by dashboards, analytics, support tickets, surveys, coaching interactions, and assessment results.
* Learning Ecosystem Improvement Specs — Actionable specifications for product, engineering, and data science teams, detailing problem statements, corroborating evidence, anticipated student outcomes, and acceptance criteria.
**What You Won’t Be Doing**
* Repackaging traditional education in an AI wrapper. This isn't about replicating classroom instruction via screens – we're fundamentally reimagining learning from the ground up.
* Analyzing data in isolation. You'll be expected to regularly engage with K\-12 students, valuing their feedback as essential input from our paying customers.
* Waiting for consensus to push boundaries. You'll champion a bold vision and rally others around data\-driven results.
* Sticking to conventional methods. You'll be free to experiment with innovative approaches to motivation, assessment, and instruction.
* Fearing AI's impact on education. Here, you'll harness AI as an exciting tool to revolutionize learning, not as a threat to be mitigated.
**Head Of Curriculum Key Responsibilities**
Lead innovation in AI\-powered, teacher\-independent education to achieve outstanding student outcomes across multiple campus locations. Integrate data analytics with ongoing student engagement to continuously refine our learning ecosystem, with performance tracked through AP exam results and MAP assessment growth.
**Basic Requirements**
* Master's degree or higher in Educational Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field
* At least 5 years of experience in academic or EdTech leadership roles, with direct people management responsibility (hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, termination decisions)
* Demonstrated experience using AI tools as part of day\-to\-day professional workflows, and willingness to rely on AI extensively to improve academic and operational outcomes.
* Strong understanding of learning science principles, such as Cognitive Load Theory and Mayer's Multimedia Principles, and data\-driven educational approaches
