Job Description
We are looking for a hands\-on Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer to join our Market Planning \& Development team on a contract basis through the end of the year. This role has evolved beyond traditional forecasting and reporting and is now heavily focused on modernizing data workflows, building scalable cloud\-based pipelines, and leveraging AI\-assisted development tools within a growing analytics environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience building and optimizing data pipelines, working with cloud data platforms such as Google BigQuery (GBQ), and supporting predictive modeling and analytics initiatives. This person should be comfortable operating in environments transitioning from legacy low\-code and on\-premise systems into more scalable cloud\-native architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines from on\-premise and low\-code systems into cloud\-based environments including Google BigQuery (GBQ)
• Design and optimize ETL/ELT workflows to support analytics, forecasting, and operational reporting initiatives
• Support predictive modeling, forecasting, and machine learning initiatives across market planning and business operations
• Work closely with business stakeholders to modernize reporting and analytics capabilities
• Develop and maintain automated workflows using Python, SQL, and cloud\-native tools
• Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to improve data accessibility, governance, and reporting efficiency
• Leverage AI\-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini, Copilot, or similar technologies to accelerate development and automation workflows
• Assist in transitioning existing low\-code/on\-premise solutions into scalable cloud\-based data platforms
• Build and support Power BI dashboards and analytics outputs for leadership teams
• Ensure data quality, validation, monitoring, and pipeline reliability across environments
Qualifications:
• 3\+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or related fields
• Strong hands\-on experience with Python and SQL
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Experience with Google BigQuery (GBQ), GCP, or comparable cloud data platforms
• Experience working with cloud and/or hybrid on\-premise data environments
• Strong understanding of data modeling, transformations, and large dataset optimization
• Experience with predictive modeling, forecasting, or machine learning workflows
• Familiarity with Power BI and modern reporting frameworks
• Experience with Alteryx, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, or similar data tooling is considered an asset
• Exposure to AI\-assisted coding/development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, or OpenAI tools is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with technical and non\-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have:
• Experience modernizing legacy or low\-code reporting/data environments
• Experience supporting retail, forecasting, logistics, or market planning functions
• Exposure to automation, orchestration, and cloud migration initiatives
• Experience working in fast\-paced, evolving analytics environments
