We are seeking a qualified and passionate Director to lead our team and ensure compliance with Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules and uphold the highest standards of care and education.

Job Summary:
The Child Care Center Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, ensuring compliance with all Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) child care licensing rules, managing staff, overseeing curriculum implementation, and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with all Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules (R 400\.8101 – R 400\.8835\).
* Supervise and support center staff; provide regular performance evaluations and professional development.
* Maintain enrollment, child records, staff documentation, and other licensing\-required documents.
* Coordinate curriculum planning and implementation aligned with developmentally appropriate practices.
* Foster relationships with families and the community to support child development.
* Conduct regular safety checks and emergency preparedness drills.
* Represent the center during inspections and communicate with licensing consultants.

Minimum Qualifications (Per Michigan Licensing Rules):
According to Rule R 400\.8113, candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
1\. Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or child development.
*Candidates must also be at least 21 years of age.*

Preferred Qualifications:
* Proven leadership experience preferably in a licensed child care setting or educational facility.
* Strong understanding of Michigan child care licensing laws and best practices. (Or willingness to learn them)
* CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
* Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with early childhood curriculum planning and assessment tools.
