**Accountant – Autonomous, Tech\-Savvy** Location: Remote (EST Time Zone Required) Company: Aviation InterTec Services – Growing B2B Enterprise SaaS Company **About the Company** Aviation InterTec Services (AIS) develops enterprise aviation maintenance management software used by aircraft operators and aviation organizations globally. We are a growing B2B SaaS company operating in a specialized, highly technical industry where precision, reliability, and operational efficiency matter. **About the Role** I am looking for a detail\-oriented, tech\-savvy, and highly autonomous Accountant to own and manage the company’s day\-to\-day accounting operations while continuously improving processes and driving efficiencies across the finance function. This is a hands\-on role within a fast\-paced startup environment. I am looking for someone who can operate independently, solve problems proactively, and help build a scalable financial foundation as the company grows. This is also an opportunity to grow with the company into a more senior role, such as Controller or Director of Finance. **Why Join Us** * High ownership and autonomy * Opportunity to help build scalable finance operations * Exposure to SaaS metrics, systems, and revenue operations * Small, collaborative, and highly technical team * Opportunity to grow into a senior finance leadership role * Work in a global industry supporting aviation operators worldwide **Key Responsibilities** Revenue Operations \& Contracts * Prepare and manage customer contract renewals, ensuring timely execution and accuracy * Maintain and update contract renewal schedules and key terms (pricing, duration, amendments, renewals) * Prepare customer quotes in coordination with sales and operations teams * Ensure alignment between contracts, invoicing, and revenue recognition * Support billing workflows and customer revenue operations Core Accounting * Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO) * Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations * Ensure proper classification of transactions (e.g., capital vs. operating expenses) * Support month\-end close processes and financial accuracy Accounts Receivable * Issue invoices using internal systems * Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts * Support collections and cash flow management Accounts Payable * Process vendor payments using tools such as Plooto * Maintain vendor records and ensure timely and accurate payments Revenue Recognition * Record monthly recurring revenue (MRR) and non\-recurring revenue * Maintain deferred revenue schedules in accordance with customer contracts * Support accurate SaaS revenue reporting and tracking Payroll \& Compliance * Process payroll remittances * Manage Employer Health Tax (EHT) and Workers’ Compensation (WCB) obligations * Ensure compliance with payroll\-related filings and requirements Tax \& Filings * Prepare and file GST/HST returns * Support external accountants and year\-end processes as required Budgeting \& Reporting * Assist with budget preparation by gathering inputs across the business * Analyze actual results versus budget and identify key business drivers * Support ad hoc reporting and finance initiatives **Requirements** * Accounting degree or diploma; working toward a CPA designation is an asset * 5\+ years of accounting experience * 2\+ years of experience working in a startup environment * Strong hands\-on full\-cycle accounting experience * Experience with variance analysis and providing meaningful business insights to management * Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO); certification is an asset * Experience with modern finance tools and cloud\-based systems (e.g., Plooto) * Experience working with customer contracts, renewals, and SaaS billing workflows * Solid understanding of revenue recognition, payroll compliance, and Canadian tax requirements (GST/HST) **Mindset \& Approach** * Highly autonomous and able to operate with minimal supervision * Comfortable working in a fast\-paced startup environment with ambiguity * Strong attention to detail and a results\-oriented mindset * Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and improving processes * Strong organizational and time management skills * Strong communication and collaboration skills
